Is 1 a prime number, yes or no?

The meaning of a number being measured as prime is that its only factors are 1 and the number itself.

The meaning of a number not being prime or a composite number is that it must have factors other than 1 and the number itself

If (1×1×1×…n times) is always equal to 1

1 cannot be disintegrated into any factors a and b where a and b are natural numbers

Hence 1 is not composite - is true

But that does not mean it can be prime.

As per the definition of prime, the number should be articulated as the product of 1 and the number of itself and there are no other factors that can be used

But here 1 even when articulated as a product of two terms, it is (1×1) where it is multiplying itself, which does not comply with the definition of prime.

To conclude, 1 is neither a prime nor a composite.

well,1 is neither prime nor composite

reason-:

if we think 1 as a prime

are we correct?

the definition of a prime number is-

a positive integer that has exactly two positive divisors

but what about 1?

1 have only one positive divisor[one itself]

as it is not a prime number then is it composite?

the definition of a composite number is -

a number that have more than two factors

but considering one as composite is obviously wrong

as 1 have only one factor that is 1 itself

therefore

1 is neither prime nor composite
