your question is ---> The average atomic mass of Boron is 10.8. It has two isotopes of masses 10 and 11 respectively. What is the percentage of isotope with the average of isotope with the average mass of 10.

answer : option (D) 20%

solution : let percentage abundance of isotope of mass 10 is x.

then, average atomic mass = % abundance of first isotope × atomic mass of first isotope + % abundance of 2nd isotope × atomic mass of 2nd isotope

or, 10.8 = x/100 × 10 + (100 - x)/100 × 11

or, 1080 = 10x + 1100 - 11x

or, -20 = -x

or, x = 20

hence, percentage abundance of isotope of mass 10 = 20%
