A: The diagonal size of the display does matter, from experience I can tell you that the bigger the display the easier it is to see because you can set all the items to be bigger (System Preferences> Displays>Scaled then choose a number that makes the display comfortable for you) then even if you have to make everything larger, the bigger 15 inch display will make it more comfortable for you because there is enough room to fit what you are working on.

Go to an Apple Store and try the 13″ and 15″ models out to see which is most comfortable for you, make sure to change the setting in Displays so that you can see everything larger.
