SOLUTION

TO CHECK

Is 2 is a rational number

EVALUATION

We know that a Rational number is defined as a number of the form  \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{p}{q}   \: } Where p & q are integers with q ≠ 0

Here the given number is 2

Now the number can be rewritten as

 \sf{ 2 =  \dfrac{2}{1} }

Numerator = 2

Denominator = 1

Thus 2 can be written in the form  \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{p}{q}   \: }

Where p = 2 , q = 1 & q ≠ 0

So the number 2 can be written in the form  \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{p}{q}   \: } Where p & q are integers with q ≠ 0

Hence 2 is a rational number
