- (2x - 3) is a factor of Given polynomial or not.
Solution :
If (2x - 3) is a factor of given polynomial then when we put value of x in polynomial then the Value will have to came 0.
So,
2x - 3 = 0
2x = 3
x = 3/2
- Putting value of x in given polynomial
= 4x³ + 2x² - 20 + 12
= 4 × (3/2)³ + 2 × (3/2)² - 8
= 4 × 27/8 + 2 × 9/4 - 8
= 27/2 + 9/2 - 8
= (27 + 9 - 16)/2
= (36 - 16)/2
= 20/2
= 10
Hence,
- (2x-3) is not a factor of 4x³+2x²-20+12.

= not equal to zero.
so, 2x-3 is not a factor.
