is -3 a zero of the polynomial X square + X - 5

Hey,

f(x) = x {}^{2}  + x - 5 \\  \\ given \: x =  - 3 \\  \\ f( - 3) = ( - 3) {}^{2}  - 3 - 5 = 9 - 8 = 1 \\  \\  \\

Hence,x=3 isn't a value of given polynomial
