AP : 3 , 8 , 13 , ....

a = 3

d = 8 - 3 = 5

aₙ = 302

n = ?

aₙ = a + ( n - 1 ) d

302 = 3 + ( n - 1 ) 5

302 - 3 = ( n - 1 ) 5

( n - 1 ) = 299 / 5

n = 299 / 5 + 1

n = 304 / 5

Here n is in fraction but n can only be a whole number .

Hence , 302 is not a term of the given AP .
