Is 56 a perfect square? Give reason

 For 56 to be a square number, 56 must be the product of an integer multiplied by itself. In other words, the square root of 56 must equal a whole number (integer).
There is no integer that you can multiply by itself that will make 56. Furthermore, the square root of 56 is not an integer. 
The answer to the question: "Is 56 a perfect square?" is  NO

no because it lies between the squares of 7 and 8.
there is no other whole number in between them.
so we can say that 56 is not a perfect square
