False

We know that it we multiply any number with it's multiplicative inverse, the answer is always one.

Therefore, 8/9 × -9/8 should be 1.

 \frac{8}{9} \times \frac{ - 9}{8} = - 1

Since, - 1≠1

Hence, 8/9 is not the multiplicative inverse of-9/8.
