This totally depends upon the situation, sometime you know more than anyone else and the true reasoning behind the situation. So there can be a conflict between the importance of duty to friendship. so one has to judge the situation and than act on such situations.

according to a chapter AFTER TWENTY YEARS the patrolman who was a friend of a gangster of Chicago the patrolman allow him to escape but according to me everything should go equal
