x+y=10....(1)

x−y=2....(2)

Adding equation (1)&(2), we have

(x+y)+(x−y)=10+2

2x=12

⇒x=

2

=6

Substituting the value of x in equation (1), we have

6+y=10

⇒y=10−6=4

Hence the solution for the equations x+y=10 and x−y=2 are x=6 and y=4..
