North America is a temperate grassland biome.

Like all other biomes, temperate grasslands are characterized by predominant vegetation that is none other than grasses.

Unlike savannas that comprise of a good deal of trees and shrubs scattered all along, temperate grasslands in general are devoid of trees.

Temperature may vary in a dramatic manner in this biome.

Additional countries include Africa, Eurasia and South America.
