Answer: mixture.

Explanation:

1. Air is a mixture because it contains many compounds in it.

2. It contains many gaseous compounds like N2 which makes 78%of it and other life sustaining gases like O2 and CO2.

3. Apart from these elemental compounds it also contains water vapour which is a liquid and solid particles which are sometimes referred as pollutants.

Hence air is not just merely a compound but a mixture.
