we can define stone as hard solid non- metallic mineral matter of which rock is made.Stones are made of silicates and calcium carbonates.e.g:granite,sandstone,slate quartzite are mainly composed of silicates while limestone,marble and travertine are mainly composed of calcium carbonates.
