Answer:

Yes, Amanda's attitude is typical behavior of a teenage boy/girl who doesn't want any control over their lives and desires freedom. The parents of such age group children must also understand that controlling and having a dominant behavior over children would not solve the problem. In fact, it could even worsen the problem because of too much control and dominance over children they might have suicidal feelings or might run away from their house.

yes amanda's attitudes towards life is typical to a teenager.

she is fond of eating chocolates and frequency has acne on her face and all this gives us evidence that Amanda is a teenager and is going through adolescence .

moreover Amanda fails to understand her mother's point of view and her mother's perspective towards life that she wants Amanda to be a good girl and learn all the etiquettes and ethics to live in the society . this kind of nature generally prevails in teenagers .

in this poem the poet wants to give the message to the parents that parents should not impose their will on the children and should not scold children for small and little mistakes rather parents should love their children and make them understand politely so that children do not start disobeying them
