Power is an individual's capacity to influence decisions.

• Power is the capacity to influence the manner of others with or without opposition by using a mixture of moves to push or provoke action.
• Power is the capacity to get things done. People with power are eligible to influence others' behaviour to accomplish a purpose or objective. Others may withstand tries to make them do specific things, but an influential leader is able to withstand that opposition. Although people may respect power as evil or brutal, power is a fact of organizational existence and in itself is neither favourable nor wrong. Leaders can use power to aid others or to impede them, to fulfil the organization’s objectives or weaken them.
