10t^2 + 25t = 100
Subtract 100 from both sides, we get
10^2 + 25t - 100 = 0
using the quadratic formula i.e -b+/b^2-4ac/2a, we get
a = 10, b = 25, c = -100
t = -(25) +/ root (25)^2 - 4(10)(-100)/2(10)
t = -25 +/ root 4625/20
t = -5/4 + 1/4root 185 or t = -5/4 + -1/4 root 185.
Note: In the above example, +/ is +(or)-.
