No , argon is not larger than chlorine because size decreases from left to right in period in periodic table.

yes bcoz argon has its octet complete which mean there is maximum repulsion in argon atom
where as chlorine need one electron to complete its octet so there will be some attraction in atom of chlorine and due to that attraction size of chlorine atom decrease
