is
As we know valency of Hydrogen
why we write H2 & valency of chlorine is 1 then why cl2
why
plz balance this

CO₂ + H₂O
- C6H12O6 + O₂ + H₂O
My Answer is
6 C02, +7H20
-----→ + 602 + H ₂ O
But Answer on Book is
6 co2 +12H₂O→

C6 H12O6 +60₂ + 6H₂O

We write hydrogen as H but during any reaction hydrogen reacts as a molecule. The molecular formula of hydrogen is {H}_{2}.

\: \:

Same thing happens with Chlorine. The atomic formula of Chlorine is Cl but the molecule which takes part in reaction is {Cl}_{2}.

 \:  \:  \:  \:

{CO}_{2} + {H}_{2}o  \:  \:  -  \: {C}_{6}{H}_{12}{O}_{6} + {O}_{2} + {H}_{2}O

Left side :

C = 1 × 6

H = 2 × 12

O = ( 2 × 6 ) + 12

\: \:

Right side :

C = 6

H = 12 + ( 6 × 2 )

O = ( 2 × 6 ) + ( 6 × 2 )

6 \: {CO}_{2}+ 12 \: {H}_{2}o \:  -  \:  {C}_{6}{H}_{12}{O}_{6}+ 6 \: {O}_{2} + 6 \: {H}_{2}O

  • Atom - It is the smallest unit of a matter that forms elements.

  • Molecule - It is the a group of atoms and the smallest unit that can take part in any chemical reaction.

  • We need to balance a chemical equation because of the "Law of Conservation of Mass".

This law states that matter can neither be destroyed or created in a chemical reaction.
