Is bakelite used for making fire resistant fabrics?

Bakelite is a polymer which is made up of a monomers formaldehyde and phenol. It is a thermosetting polymer and synthesis by man.
It is one of the oldest polymer that was synthesis by man.
In making handles of frying pans Bakelite polymer is used. These are made up of thermosetting plastic because these are resistant to fire and tolerate heat comparison with other plastics.
Because bakelite is a thermosetting plastic so it is a poor conductor of heat and electricity.
That is why they are used in making electrical switches and handles of utensils.

Hence, Bakelite is used for making fire resistant fabrics.
