Answer: certainly ! Nowadays, instead of working hard in fulfilment of large dreams, there’s a way of earning through begging.

At basic, an economic activity is any which involves the weighing up of the (opportunity) costs and benefits of that activity, regardless of whether or not those costs and benefits are measurable. Begging would be included as such.

The costs of begging primarily include the use of time, and the possibility of ridicule or scorn from others. The benefits include the money that can be raised, and the freedom to do so when one chooses.
