Beryllium is more metallic than galium as it lies in the group 2 of the periodic table and gallium lies in the group 12 of the period 4. Now we know that the metallic character of an element decreases as we go from left to right in a period.

Of course Gallium is more metallic , as Beryllium its an alkaline earth metal of group 2 and period II which has s-character which is more penetrating towards nucleus and so does not easily donate its electron.
