Bismuth (Bi) is a chemical element. On the periodic table it's number is 83, which means that it is a post-transition metal. { Group - 15, period -6, block- p}
The post - transition metals,also known as the poor metals, is a group of metals on the periodic table. It is to the right of the transition metals.
Elemental bismuth may occur naturally, although it's sulfide and oxide form important commercial ores.
Bismuth can be inhaled, ingested or absorbed through the skin.
Bismuth has been promoted as a more-safe substitute to toxic lead in ammunition.
