Is blood type an example of polygenic inheritance?

some inherited traits involve more than two alleles of a single gene. in humans (for eg.) three allels (A,B and O) determine blood type. a person can have only two of the alleles, but there are three different ones found in humans. the O allele is recessive to both A and B alleles. so obviously yes , the blood type is an example of polygenic inheritance.

hope it helped. :)

Polygenic Inheritance

Explanation:

  • Three allels (A,B and O) determine blood type.an individual can have only two of the alleles, yet there are three unique ones found in humans
  • The O allele is recessive to both An and B alleles. so the blood type is a case of polygenic inheritance   in human height, skin color, and hair color
  • In animal size, life span, or infection opposition and in plants with grain color, length of maize, or flower size
  • These attributes are impacted by numerous qualities and thought about polygenic
