Breaking of chalk is a temporary change as, you can make the chalk the way it was by making the broken chalk into pieces then powder. By adding water to it will become a then by moulding it and drying it we are able to derive the initial chalk we broke.
As, we can bring back the initial stage and as no new substance is formed it is a temporary change, reversible change or a physical change. You can give it any of the three name I have mentioned here.
