Hinduism is a religion which incorporates diverse views on the concept of God. ✔✔ The short answer is yes Buddhism is atheistic.

✔✔ The long answer is the origins of Buddhism has its roots in personal development and focuses more on individual effort towards self realization rather than worshiping a deity. There are records in theravada buddhism i.e dhamachakapada where buddha refuses or goes a roundabout way to tell his followers that its pointless knowing if there is a creator/ god for the whole system we are in because god cannot or will not help you.

✔✔ With that said, as Buddhism started migrating to the east i.e china more and more mystical elements were en-cooperated into it. It is through assimilation with local cultures i.e taoism that buddhism adopted the temple + huge buddha statues + joss sticks prayers into its lore. this inadvertently made Buddhism pretty much a theistic religion to many Chinese followers who fail to separate taoism from buddhism.

✔✔ So in conclusion, while MOST forms of Buddhism is atheistic, there is still a huge following of buddhism specifically in Malaysia and China where buddha is deemed as a god and people worship the buddha instead thus making it very much a theistic religion.
