Calcium Chloride = CaCl2

So to find out what acid and base were used, we react CaCl2 with water.

CaCl2 + 2H2O ---> Ca(OH)2 + 2HCl

So the acid is HCl and the base is Ca(Oh)2 and both are strong so both neutralises each other completely.

Hence, CaCl2 is a neutral salt. Neither Acidic nor Basic.

Hope it helps

It neither ionizes to form hydrogen ions, nor does it dissociates to give hydroxide ions. Therefore, it is neither an acid nor a base.
