Chemical engineering is a good profession but also needs a lot of alertness and attention as working with chemicals is not an easy job. You also need to know the various chemicals, their names, their valency, atomicity and so on. To be a chemical engineer you must be adept in mostly maths and chemistry. (Hope this helps you :D)
