Of course, parasites have babies, and some free-living organisms have a parasitic early life stage. But the notion I seek to discredit here is that all babies are parasites of their parents and, particularly, that the human fetus is a parasite of its mother. This misconception has become distressingly common among my peers.

No, because a parasite is an organism of one species which lives in or on organism of other species and deriving it's nourishment from host plant..
But an human embryo is an organism of a species ( homo sapiens) living on the womb of same organism of that species ( homo sapiens)..
The embryo is dependent metabolically on mother not parasitically..
