Yes, poverty is one of the main causes of child labour. When a family is poor and has very low income which is not sufficient for making ends meet, then the parents have to send the children ot work so that they can also contribute to the total income of the family and help support the family. They cannot afford to send them to school and are helpless as their income is very low and they can't even eat three square meals a day.
