No, there are a lot of perks of being both a child and an adult later.

As a child, the best thing you get is your family - specially your parents' love and you get to go to adventures with your siblings, you get to enjoy, you are laid back.

As an adult, you get to drink, to party, to socialize, to build your own reputation, to get respect and of course - to earn your bread and butter and be poised.

I think both phases have meaning in life, they both make life, you can't stick to one for always, you've to grow old and ultimately die... That's the reality...
