Hey!
There are differences between classification and taxonomy. I'll explain in detail,
1. Taxonomy :-
Taxonomy deals with classification , identification & nomenclature. It also deals wid the study of rules , practice of various classifications, principles of organisms. Taxonomic studies are mainly based on the external structure and anatomy , embryology , molecular based studies , fossils etc..
2. Classification :-
Classification mainly deals with classifying particular organisms in appropriate group of species. We can easily obtain evidences from classification such as " anatomy , embryology , cytology , molecular biology etc. Correlated organisms will be grouped in to a group. And by that we can simply identify their characteristics.
