Nontoxic makes sense. Neither clay (originally used), limestone, dolomite or chalk biodegrades.  They mechanically break up into powders and are harmless but they do not biodegrade. They can change the PH of a field which could change what will grow. But they are geological minerals, powdered rock.  The issue would be the resin and the paint.  It can be non toxic and biodegradable or toxic. But biodegradable rock is like gluten free chocolate or organic wool. It is a mistake in categories
