Is CO2 a fire extiguisher ? explain why ?

Yes, CO2 is a fire extinguisher because it displaces the oxygen. When fire can’t find oxygen it will extinguish. CO2 is also very cold as it comes out of the extinguisher so it cools down the fuel.

    Carbon dioxide is a fire extinguisher gas. Usually some liquid with dissolved Carbon Dioxide also is sprayed on big fires.

    Carbon dioxide is heavier than Oxygen, Nitrogen, or water vapour in the air. So when it is sprayed it falls nearer the burning objects. So Oxygen from air is separated from the burning objects. So the burning stops.
