HEY DEAR....!!

Carbon Dioxide fire extinguishersextinguish fire by taking away the oxygen element of the fire triangle and also be removing the heat with a very cold discharge. Carbon dioxide can be used on Class B & C fires. They are usually ineffective on Class A fires.

DonDj: Whenever a material catches fire it burns due to the atmospheric oxygen. The fire extinguisher contains co2 so that it covers the burning material by a layer which does not allow oxygen to burn thus the fire goes off
