Litmus is obtained from lichen. Lichen is symbiosis relationship od fungi and algae.

Litmus paper is available in two colors i.e. blue and red. When acid is tested on blue litmus paper, it turns blue. And when base is tested on red litmus paper, it turns blue.

Other indicators:-

Other indicators used by us in chemistry lab include Methyl Orange, Phenolphthalien, red cabbage, China rose etc.
