is cos theta=11/61 find tan theta

SOLUTION:-

Cos theta = 11/16

base/hypotenuse=11/17

let base = 11x

hypotenuse=17x

Perpendicular=

 \sqrt{ {h}^{2}  -  {b}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {(17x)}^{2} -  {( 11x)}^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{289 {x}^{2} - 121 {x}^{2}  }  \\ =   \sqrt{168 {x}^{2} }  \\

= 12.95x

So perpendicular is 12.95x

tan theta = perpendicular/base

=12.95x/11x

=12.95/11(approx.)
