We have to prove that
cot A = cos A / sin A
Since, we know that Cotangent is the inverse trigonometric function of tangent.
i-e cot A = 1 / tan A .......... (1)
We also know that,
tan A = sin A / cos A
Put this value in equation (1), we get:
cot A = 1 / (sin A / cos A)
cot A = cos A / sin A

According to Trigonometry equations,
The ratio of sine of an angle to the cosine of the same angle is equal to the tangent of the angle.
=> sinA/cosA = tanA
Also, the cotangent of an angle is inversely proportional to the tangent of the same angle.
cotA = 1/tanA
=> cotA = 1/(sinA/cosA)
=> cotA = 1 *cosA/sinA
=> cotA = cosA/sinA
