Is cotton a state of carbon

I found that cotton is aproximately 91-94% cellulose. If I calculate that manually it gives that cotton is around 41.77% Carbon (C). I can used this as an estimate, however I wonder if some one have done the chemical analysis of cotton canvas or cloths before.
