Yes , diamond is a poor conductor of electricity because ,
- Diamond is an allotrope of carbon with a rigid tetrahedron like structure
- The 4 valencies of carbon are satisfied with covalent bonds, therefore , all electrons are localised .
- There are no free electrons for constituting current, therefore , electricity doesn’t pass through diamond.
