group . This group includes diatoms and

golden algeae ( desmids ) . They're fond in

fresh water and in marine environment. Most

of them are photosynthetic .

In diatoms the cell wall forms two thin

overlapping. The wall are embedded with silica

and their wall is destructible.

Diatoms are the ' chief producer ' of

the oceans. so. that the diatoms are major

group of algae .
