Is "Do not be fear" correct or "Do not be feared" correct as a passive voice?
"Do not fear" might be the correct form of active voice but I'm confused about the above written sentence.
Please help to justify.
Thank you.

Explanation:

The selection of words in the sentence is actually not correct. Instead f writing do not be feared, the correct sentence should be;

Do not be afraid of (something).

This makes a simple yet meaningful sentence.

In passive terms we can write it as,

Fear should not dominate you

Active and passive voices are two forms of writing or describing a sentence. In active voice, the subject comes first and it states the action that is given by the verb in the sentence, whereas in the passive voice, the subject comes after the action of the verb.

The correct sentence is Do not be feared.

  • When the emphasis is on either the thing or the person affected by the action, the passive voice is used.
  • Passive voice generally uses the term ed and receives the verb action.
  • For example -  Active: Roy reads a magazine. Passive: A magazine is read by Roy.
  • Thus, the correct sentence is - Do not be feared.
