Yes a dog is a solid, living of things are solid. A solid's atoms are often closely compacted, unless heated. A solid also keeps it's form, unlike a liquid it with keep it's shape. For example when you put a cube of ice into a cup the ice cube stays the same shape, while the liquid takes the shape of the cup.
