Is Doldrums the whole part of the equatorial low pressure belt or a certain region of that region? Please give us a direct answer to my question.​

The Doldrums belt is the region 5 degree north and south of the Equator. This belt has little surface wind. This is not constant, a specific place may be calm for weeks but a soft wind can come again. In ancient times sail boats can get stuck and sailors have to wait for weeks for the wind to come.
