Ya, it is harmful... Mercury are the toxic element which is ever since known to us... If due to some reason if reaches our mouth or if it getts mixed with food.. Then we may have to suffer. Alot...in our body kidney is the only organ who eliminate toxic wastes.. But it is also difficult for the kidney as mercury do not dissolve and hence it cannot be converted to urine or urea
