E coli are not a Methanogens.

Explanation:

The bacteria which have the ability to produce methane as end product of its metabolic activity they are called as Methanogens. Methanogens are group under domain called as archaea.

On other hand E.coli is an anaerobic bacterium which is found in the gut of the ruminant animals and human being. It doesn’t produce methane as product of its metabolic activity. Anaerobic bacteria do not live or grow in presence of oxygen.
