no. esterification is the formation of ester, a sweet smaelling substaance used as sweetening agent and is formed by the combination of ethanol and ethanoic acid in the presence of H2SO4.

saponification is the making of soap during the decomposition of ethyl acetate (ester) in the presence of NaOH to form ethanol and ethanoic acid.

Easterification is the opposite of saponification reaction .

easterification reaction is done in presence of acid while saponification reaction is done in presence of base
