is electric field lines discontinue in charge full region?

jay1001: what is charge full region ? pls explain. Are you talking about continuos charge distribution bodies ?
sehaj0001: you know what is charge free region?
jay1001: Electric field lines usually are never discontinuous , whether charge free or charge full, they have to be continuous.
jay1001: Electric field lines show the path, where a charged particle can accelerate. Now if they they are discontinous, it means there is a sudden jump or a sudden break which is not possible.

By convention, electric field lines are said to start from a positive charge and end at a negative charge. As you can see in the above figure, the field lines come to an abrupt stop at the surface of the charge. When there isn't any charge, the electric field lines must be continuous.
