hii there'

Electromotive force, abbreviated emf(denoted and measured in volts), is the electrical intensity or "pressure" developed by a source of electrical energy such as a battery or generator. ... This potential difference can drive an electric current if an external circuit is attached to the terminals.

i hope it help you
thnx for this nice question

AryanDev1: you don't answer my question exactly firstly give my answer. yes or no and explain
S4MAEL: yes bro
S4MAEL: The electromotive force (emf) is not really a force but a transfer of electrical energy between high electrical potential and low electrical potential.
S4MAEL: plz bro mark as brainliest please bro
S4MAEL: i ask right answer
AryanDev1: now u r right
S4MAEL: thnx please mark as brainliest bro

It is a cause.when emf is applied to a circuit, potential difference is caused. It is the work done by a source in taking a unit charge once round the circuit.

AryanDev1: I asked that emf is a force or not? answer quickly
sudhird903p46cmc: No
sudhird903p46cmc: It's not,as force is measured in Newton.
sudhird903p46cmc: It is measured in volts
