Is factorization of x^2-3x-2 is possible

No , it is not possible

as we split -3x , we get -2x - x

if we add it , we get -3x

and when we multiply it we get +2x^2

so, it is not possible to factorise x^2 - 3x - 2

The factorisation of the equation is not possible by splitting the middle term...

But we can find the roots of the equation by using quadratic formula.....

x²-3x-2

Using quadratic formula

D=b²-4ac

D=(-3)²-4(1)(-2)

D=9+8

D=17

roots = -b+√D/2a & -b-√D/2a

roots = [-(-3)+√17]/2 & [-(-3)-√17]/2

=(3+√17)/2 & (3-√17)/2
